Hello from Portugal
Those of you who follow me on Instagram (roisindohertyblog) will know that Nick and I arrived In Portugal on Thursday to enjoy a long birthday break in the Sun that was well overdue.
We where actually due to be in New York this week but decided it wasn’t the best option for a very moaning pregnant lady haha but we promised ourselves we where going to book somewhere cheap cheerful and luxurious. We actually just booked this unbelievable deal on Wednesday… Yes the day before we departed.
We wanted to head away over the easter break but could we find a deal anywhere under £1200? No!
Expensive breaks just aren’t realistic for us right now with our new home, family life and new baby on the way. Honestly I just couldn’t justify paying crazy money.
The last couple of months have been so intense and testing on me as an entrepreneur. To be honest I felt like giving up a few times again as things felt like they where getting to much for me to control, but I quickly reminded myself its how I’m controlling these situations in my head to allow it to affect me in this way.
I knew I needed a break but felt guilty to take one. Why? Because thats the life you live when you are self employed and others depend on you.
Again, this was how I was allowing my mind to control my thoughts.
I have been working non-stop on building my business and in the early stages of some exciting things… Which means crazy hours, sleepless nights and no unwinding.
After winning Business person of the year and Most inspirational influencer of the year at one of irelands leading award ceremonies (Local women magazine awards) I took a moment and thought of all the hard work and passion I’ve put into everything over this past 12 months that I actually do deserve this break.
Anyway back to the holiday deal…
I knew I wanted to head to Portugal and I had looked on every single holiday site you could imagine for last min deals. Couldn’t find anything.
I booked our hotel which is TUI BLUE Falesia hotel **** through booking.com (using my link you’ll save £15 back on any booking with booking.com) for 4 nights 5 days half board which includes our breakfast and dinner for ONLY £290. YESSS! Only £290 (£36 per night) I was not thinking it was going to be as luxurious as it is to be honest. It has absolutely everything which I will update you all with the second part of this blog when we get home on what we got up to and what we would recommend.
Onto the flights. I booked these through Skyscanner These where a bit more expensive than the hotel but if we had of booked in advance and not the day before we would have absolutely got a bargain here too. They cost us £186 each again wasn’t overly expensive.
So in total £330 each for a luxury half board holiday. How could you turn that down? You couldn’t!
Anyway, I must dash as Nick is moaning about a pint. I will finish the second part of this blog when we get home.
We are out tonight for my last supper of being 25.
love Ro x
